Jackie Sheckler Finch has been a newspaper reporter
and photographer for most of her adult life, mostly in New England and
Indiana. She became a Hoosier more than 20 years ago when she moved from
Massachusetts and became the city reporter for The Herald-Times
in Bloomington, Indiana, in 1989.
Today the editor of two Indiana
publications – Homes & Lifestyles of South-Central Indiana
and Adventure Indiana, Finch also has written 10 travel
books for Globe Pequot while she freelances for other newspapers and
magazines.

She also writes for
websites, including Triporati.com, Examiner.com and Suite101.com, as
well as being a contributing editor to Girlfriends That Golf.com.
An Active member of the Society of American
Travel Writers, Midwest Travel Writers, Woman’s Press Club of Indiana
and the National Federation of Press Women, Jackie has won numerous
first-place writing and photography awards. She also has been named the
Mark Twain Travel Writer of the Year a record four times – in 1998,
2001, 2003 and 2007.
